Upcoming activity
As construction moves forward, a number of transport management measures will be required to ensure works can be carried out safely. We will keep this page updated with the latest information related to the project and thank the community for their patience.

Footpath Closures
From 29 January 2026
Stewartby Footpaths 1 and 2 closed.
From 1 April 2026
Stewartby Footpath A1 and Elstow Footpath 8 closed.
Traffic Management
Broadmead Road
24 August – 18 September
To facilitate road improvements and utility works, there will be stop/go boards in place on Broadmead Road on weekdays only between Monday 24 August and Friday 18 September. The hours will be as follows:
24 – 28 August: 7:30am – 4:30pm
1 – 18 September: 9:30am – 3:30pm
Please note, there will be no traffic management in place during the bank holiday on 31 August.
Broadmead Road and Woburn Road
21 – 25 September 2026
To facilitate our ongoing site preparation work, there will be temporary traffic management in place on Woburn Road in the vicinity of the layby adjacent to the carriageway and the junction with Broadmead Road. This will be in place between 9:30am and 6:00pm. The layby will also be closed from 2:00pm to 6:00pm.
From 17 July 2026
To coincide with the reopening of Broadmead Road on 17 July, the three-way traffic lights installed at the Woburn Road/Broadmead Road junction will be switched on.
Please note: Between 21 – 25 September the existing traffic lights will be switched out to alternative temporary traffic management during the hours of 9:30am to 6:00pm to facilitate the site preparation work on Woburn Road.
Manor Road
27 July – 27 November
There will be a 24-hour closure of Manor Road for through traffic as part of our ongoing site stabilisation and enabling works.
Please note, further traffic management on Manor Road will be required after this date and more information will be shared in due course once details have been confirmed.
