Upcoming activity
As construction moves forward, a number of transport management measures will be required to ensure works can be carried out safely. We will keep this page updated with the latest information related to the project and thank the community for their patience.

Footpath Closures
From 29 January 2026
Stewartby Footpaths 1 and 2 closed.
From 1 April 2026
Stewartby Footpath A1 and Elstow Footpath 8 closed.
Traffic Management
Broadmead Road
From 30 March 2026
The speed limit has been reduced from 60mph to 30mph to support safety.
Broadmead Road and Woburn Road
27 April – 10 May
Temporary traffic lights will be in place, which will be either two-way (Broadmead Road only) or three-way systems (Broadmead Road and Woburn Road).
5 June – 8 June 2026
Both roads will be closed from 8pm on Friday 5 until 5am on Monday 8 June 2026 while improvement works are carried out.
Manor Road
27 April – 10 ​July 2026
Improvement works will be taking place, with temporary traffic management in operation.
Please note, further ​traffic management ​on ​Manor Road will ​be required ​after this date ​and more information ​will be shared in ​due course ​once ​details have been confirmed.
Ampthill Road
6 May 2026 – 8am – 6pm
Temporary two-way traffic lights will be in place ​for one day on ​Ampthill Road, north of Manor Road, for access and improvement works.
